北韓於9日上午再度進行核試，中國社科院美國研究所研究員沈文輝認為，此舉將使南韓部署戰區高空飛彈防禦系統「薩德」（THAAD）的決心更堅定，連帶拖累周邊國家，進而使北韓遭受制裁的力道更強，且更加孤立。
中國國際廣播電台9日報導，沈文輝表示，北韓9日再次核試，南韓決定部署薩德系統是最直接的原因。國際社會至今無法從根本上解決北韓擁核問題的大背景，諸如北韓國內困境、東北亞的國際環境動盪等問題，北韓進行這場核試「並不讓人非常意外」。
核武進展 各界擔憂
沈文輝分析，從這次核試驗引發的地震等級來看，威力仍然很小，與先前無太大區別，北韓的核武技術並沒有實質性發展，負面影響有限，但北韓核武小型化技術的進展仍然令外界擔憂。
沈文輝認為，北韓9日核試，毫無疑問將使朝鮮半島的局勢更緊張，兩韓及美國與北韓間的敵對將進一步惡性循環，更可能削弱南韓民眾對薩德系統的反對聲浪，使南韓部署的決心更加堅定，連帶使薩德進度進一步加快。
加重制裁 恐釀災難
他指出，朝鮮半島局勢再這樣發展下去，令人十分擔憂，會產生「不可控的情況」，同時也將拖累周邊國家，北韓與大陸、日本、美國的關係都會面臨更多難題。下一步國際社會很可能會加大對北韓制裁，將使北韓國內經濟雪上加霜，並面臨糧食短缺等人道災難，成為兩難。
大陸官媒新華社也於9日發表評論指出，當前半島局勢逐漸進入負面循環，這一趨勢絕不符合任何一方的利益。在朝鮮半島和東北亞局勢異常複雜之際，核試並不明智。包括北韓在內的各方都應該認識到，半島生亂、生戰，東北亞動盪不安對誰都沒有好處，任何擾亂東北亞和平穩定大局的想法和做法都是不可取的。
